Finned Tube Heating Elements

Our finned tube heating elements have been working successfully in our trench heating systems for decades but have far more uses than just in trench heating.

Having sold many thousands of metres of this copper and aluminium heat exchanger for various projects we can say with confidence that they are very affective and are very easy to use.

With the ability to be used in high and low temperature hot water systems they are a highly practical heating solution. All our finned heating elements are designed and built in house by our experienced team and are available in 15mm and 22mm copper tube variants. The aluminium finns are mechanically bonded to the seamless copper tubes and offer an excellent heat transfer.

Starting with a 15mm or 22mm copper tube we apply an external finn made of aluminium which is mechanically bonded to the copper tube.

The finn material is 1050 "O" grade, 40mm thick aluminium and pressed to form a corrugated finn with integral spacing collars and interlocking return edges.

The heating element relies on the maximum surface contact between the finn and the tube (Collar) thus giving greater heat transfer and performance boost.

The folded edges of the finn perform the function of a baffle separating the incoming colder air from the heated air which passes through the finns by natural convection.

Our Finned Tube Elements can be made to a length of 3 metres but for ease of delivery we try to limit lengths to 1.5 metres. Shorter lengths can be cut to exact size.

The elements have plain ends (tails) that can be easily cut and joined to suit your exact needs by the means of soldered, push fit or compression joints.

Some applications where copper and aluminium finned tube can be used are:-

  • Behind Radiator Covers
  • Under Kitchen Cabinets
  • Behind Skirting Boards
  • Airing Cupboards
  • Voids in Floors
  • Boats
  • Caravans
  • Churches
  • Factories
  • Houses
  • Greenhouses
  • Shops & Restaurants
  • Sports Locker Rooms
  • Conservatories
  • Extensions

Our heating elements/exchanger products are renowned for their reliability and long service life, minimising repair and maintenance costs.

We have customers who have used our products for decades and have been able to gain many more years of service as only high grade materials are used.

Although we manufacture the finned tube heating elements for our own trench heaters we also offer bespoke sizes to fit other applications and can be cut and joined together where required.
